Message from Dr. Counelis

Dear Patients and Colleagues:   

          Thank you for visiting our website. Our goal at Bay Area Neurosciences is to provide patient-centered neurosurgical care in close collaboration with referring doctors and facilities. My staff and I strive to remain fully engaged with patients and care teams, while focusing on delivering excellent care in order to return patients to living their optimal lives.   

          Bay Area Neurosciences believes in the power of partnerships. We value our relationships with our network of referring physicians in Walnut Creek and surrounding areas. As we are all motivated by caring for our patients, we consider it a privilege to work with the many outstanding physicians who are present at the front lines of healthcare delivery in the Bay Area and beyond.   

          My training and years of experience have afforded me the opportunity to serve surrounding communities through my practice and in collaboration with John Muir Health.  As the Director of the Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Program for John Muir Health, I am honored to lead a team of neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, clinical nurses, pathologists and radiologists to bring top-tier, quality expertise to our community.   In closing, I wish to re-emphasize the importance of partnership and collaboration with physicians and patients for effective and efficient delivery of healthcare. We are proud to be a part of the Bay Area medicine landscape, maintaining our focus on patients.
